Some weddings have a magic about them, an effortless elegance that makes the day feel straight out of a classic film. Tirah and Tom’s wedding was just that—a perfect blend of tradition, romance, and vintage charm, set against the backdrop of a beautiful old church for their traditional Catholic ceremony.
Our journey to Tasmania was an adventure in itself. We flew from Brisbane to Launceston, where the crisp air and rolling landscapes welcomed us. From there, we embarked on a two-hour drive to Hobart, expecting a straightforward trip—but Google Maps had other plans. The winding roads stretched endlessly before us, with a random detour leading us off the highway and through the misty mountains. Somewhere along the way, we caught sight of massive possums darting across the road and kangaroos grazing in the moonlight, a true reminder of Tasmania’s untamed beauty. By the time we arrived at our hotel it was 1am and exhaustion was well and truly settling in, but the excitement of the wedding ahead made every detour and extra mile completely worth it.

Tirah, stunning in her breathtaking lace veil and vintage-inspired gown, was the epitome of grace as she walked down the aisle. Tom, in a classic tux with a bow tie (which I always love!), watched her with the kind of admiration that reminds me why I love capturing weddings. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, the towering stone walls of the church and the hushed anticipation in the air created an atmosphere of reverence and love.
The day had been forecast for rain, but we were lucky enough to have it hold off for most of the day, right up until the very end when we stepped outside for bridal portraits. A light drizzle began to fall, but rather than dampen the moment, we popped a bottle of bubbles and ran with it.
Tirah and Tom are a perfect match in every way. Their love is classic, their style impeccable, and their wedding day? Absolutely unforgettable. It was an honor to capture their love story, and I know their journey together will be just as beautiful.
