AMY + ANTHONY

Anthony & Amy’s Windy Western Ridge Wedding

Some wedding days just have a little bit of magic about them, and Anthony and Amy’s wedding at Western Ridge was exactly that.

I’ll be honest – Western Ridge has been sitting firmly on my wedding venue bucket list for quite some time. Every time I saw photos of it, I knew it was somewhere I desperately wanted to shoot. Now that I’ve finally had the chance, I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. The views are breathtaking, the purpose-built barn is absolutely stunning, and every corner of the property feels like it was designed with beautiful wedding moments in mind.

The weather, however, had other ideas.

If there was ever a day that could be described as “a bit breezy,” this definitely wasn’t it. The wind was absolutely howling across the ridge. Veils were flying, hair was doing whatever it pleased, and everyone spent a good portion of the day laughing at Mother Nature’s attempts to crash the party.

But here’s the thing about great wedding days—they’re never about perfect weather.

Despite the wild wind and chilly temperatures, Anthony and Amy didn’t let it dampen their spirits for a second. If anything, it added to the adventure. Guests wrapped up warm, everyone huddled together inside the beautifully crafted barn between celebrations, and the atmosphere was filled with the kind of warmth that only comes from being surrounded by your favourite people.

And honestly? Some of my favourite images from the day came because of the weather, not in spite of it.

Of course, every great wedding starts with a great love story.

A couple of years ago, Amy was visiting a friend, Anthony noticed her and thought why not show off some seriously impressive scooter skills. Picture this: Anthony pulling mad kickflips on his scooter, living his best life. Whether it was the kickflips or his charm (I’m sure Anthony would argue it was definitely the kickflips), something clicked that day.

From that moment on, the two have been pretty much inseparable.

Watching them together now, it’s easy to see why. They have that effortless connection that makes being around them feel easy. The laughs come naturally, the smiles are genuine, and they have a way of making everyone around them feel completely at home.

As the sun dipped behind the hills and the celebrations continued inside the barn, it was clear this day was never going to be remembered for the weather. It was going to be remembered for the people, the laughter, the love, and the beginning of the next chapter for two people who found each other in the most unexpected way.

Anthony and Amy, thank you for trusting me to capture your day. It was an absolute privilege.

And Western Ridge?

I’ll definitely be back <3
