Lush Hills, Big Love: Sheri & Brandon at Montville Estate
Some weddings just hit different—and this one? It was personal. Sheri is my sister-in-law’s baby sister, and being asked to photograph her big day felt like a massive honour (and also like sneaking into a really, really good family party with cake and pizza).
Sheri and Brandon met when they were 13 years old - yep, actual high school sweethearts. While the rest of us were making questionable choices with hair gel and MSN statuses, these two were out here finding their forever person. Their love story is the real deal - years of growing up side-by-side, and now, finally getting to say “I do” surrounded by all the people who love them most.
The day unfolded at the dreamy @montvilleestate in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Picture lush gardens, sweeping views, and enough photo locations to make a photographer weep with joy. We had every kind of backdrop—greenery, golden light, and later, an unreal sunset at the lookout to wrap it all up.
@mapleweddingsandevents were absolute legends with the coordination and styling. Everything was calm, seamless, and beautiful—every corner felt like it belonged in a magazine spread (but one where everyone is relaxed and actually having fun). The styling was on point, the florals from @bloomandbush were wild and whimsical in all the right ways, and the ceremony? Oh my heart. Delivered by the amazing @sunny_coast_celebrant, it was equal parts heartfelt and hilarious - exactly the kind of energy that sets the tone for a joy-filled day.
Sheri looked breathtaking, with glam by @nix_makeupandhair who absolutely nailed both hair and makeup. The whole morning was calm, filled with laughter and caffeine (the good kind of chaos), and then Brandon rolled in looking sharp in his @mjbale suit—cool, calm, and clearly very ready to marry the love of his life.
Food-wise, @DarNasoneItalianStreetFood came through with delicious eats that had guests going back for seconds (and thirds—I’m not naming names). The drinks were flowing thanks to @thevinebarandco, and honestly, between the food, the bar, and the love in the air, no one wanted to leave.
Being a part of this wedding - documenting the big moments, the belly laughs, the teary glances, was an honour I’ll never forget. What made this day unforgettable, though, wasn’t just the location or the styling (which, again—chef’s kiss), but the people. This family has a way of wrapping you in and making you feel like you’ve always belonged.
Every detail was thought through—Sheri and Brendon have incredible taste, and the whole vibe was relaxed, romantic, and so them. And the cake? Created perfectly by Sheri’s super talented cousin.
